Evart Downtown Development Authority/Michigan Main Street

The Evart Downtown Development Authority’s mission is to create a vibrant community that attracts and retains businesses and to enhance the quality of life of our residents. To fulfill this mission the DDA Board agreed to adopt the Michigan Main Street 4-Point strategy.

The Evart Downtown Development Authority exists to strengthen Evart through public improvements creating a vibrant community that supports and attracts businesses in the downtown area.  Since 1987 we have initiated many programs and projects that have beautified our downtown and improved the quality of life for our residents and visitors.

The Downtown Development Authority Mission, as established by Public Act 197 of 1975 is: To correct and prevent deterioration in the established DDA district, to encourage historic preservation, to acquire and dispose of interests in real and personal property, to create and implement development plans in the district, and to promote the economic growth of the district. The goal of the DDA is to implement positive economic and aesthetic changes in downtown Evart.

Downtown Development Authority meetings take place each month at the Depot, 200 S. Main Street.  Please refer to the City Calendar for dates and times or contact us at (231) 734-0185.
