Evart Adopt-A-Garden Program
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Evart Adopt-a-Garden program is designed to encourage community involvement in our continuing efforts to keep Evart a beautiful place to live work and visit. Evart is proud to support 19 flower garden, these gardens are a visual representation of the pride that we have in our community. This program utilizes volunteers from business, organizations, clubs, churches, school groups, teams and families to maintain our beautiful gardens throughout the spring summer and fall season.
GOALS:
- To keep the gardens of Evart beautiful
- To encourage community involvement and service
DATE: May 15- October 15
GARDENER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be able to identify the plants from the weeds
- Weekly weed and remove trash from your adopted garden(s)
- Trim dead flowers from plants as needed
- Deposit weeds and trash in street cans.
Fall Responsibilities:
- Cut back flowers and/or remove dead annuals for replanting next season
- Rake beds
- Pile debris for removal
CITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support gardeners
- Water gardens
- Purchase sponsor signs in each adopted garden
- List adopter’s names in all media coverage and on the city web page and DDA Facebook page
