Blue Water Ramblers

Biography (from www.bluewaterramblers.com)   The Blue Water Ramblers are lead singers who take turns harmonizing with each other to create the Blue Water Rambler tapestry of sound. Banjo-Jim Foerch sings of the sailors, farmers, lumberjacks, politicians, and workers. Bear Berends croons love songs and delivers protest songs old and new. Banjo-Jim Foerch picked up his first banjo in 1965 and has not put it down since. As a founding member of the regional touring band "Beats Settin' Home," Banjo-Jim was busy pickin' and singin' all over the Midwest for 20 years between 1982 and 2002. He says singing the songs of Michigan, America and our lives to all the people we meet on tour is the best thing he has ever done. "Everyone I ever met here in Michigan or around the Midwest is proud of our home state and our country. Our songs express that pride the best way we know how- by getting us all singing together!"   R. H. "Bear" Berends holds down the rhythm with his big, black six and twelve string guitars. As with so many baby boomers he started strumming guitar and singing folk songs in high school in the sixties. He joined Banjo-Jim and "Beats Settin' Home" at the Wheatland Music Festival in Remus, Michigan in 1993 and "Da Bearster" hasn't stopped playing and touring since. "I wanted to sing with Banjo-Jim, so I learned all his songs and taught him mine and here we are," he explains. Whether delivering the lead line of a love song or harmonizing with his solid baritone, Bear sculpts the Blue Water Ramblers’ sound.

Colmus Family

Biography (from .www.colmusfamily.com)     Nashville recording artists, the Colmus Family began as the Colmus Sisters and Gospel Country. They began touring in the early 1980’s. In 1995, the group changed their name to the Colmus Family. The Colmus Family is Edith Colmus Hunt, Lois Colmus Blount, Richard Hunt, and Todd Hunt. Edith plays keyboards and sings lead vocals and harmony. Edith's husband, Richard, plays bass and sings lead vocals. Their son, Todd, plays lead guitar, mandolin, dobro and sings lead and harmony. Edith's sister, Lois, plays rhythm guitar and sings harmony. This family band from Michigan/Kentucky still tours the United States and Canada with their brand of Christian Country music. Their rich family harmonies and solid musicianship are strong foundations to their music ministry. The Colmus Family is not a southern gospel group or bluegrass group. Mix up some Buck Owens, Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, and George Strait. Then toss in some Oak Ridge Boys, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, and Rodney Atkins and then throw in a positive message and you have their style. They play their own instruments live and do not use backing tapes.

Chris Vallillo (Lincoln in Song)

Biography (from press kit)  "On February the 12th, 1809, Abraham Lincoln came into this world in a dirt floored log cabin on the big south fork of Nolan’s Creek in Kentucky" says folk singer Chris Vallillo as he launches into the combination of narrative, storytelling and music that is his one man show Abraham Lincoln in Song. Vallillo, a former archaeologist turned musician and folklorist, created the show using period music Lincoln was directly associated with to tell the story of Lincoln’s life and times. With Abraham Lincoln in Song, Vallillo combines Lincoln’s own words and stories with contemporary folk music and period folk songs to shed light on one of our nation’s most beloved historical figures -- not only as a remarkable leader, but as a man who knew and loved this very music himself. Skillfully presenting both well known and obscure songs from Lincoln’s time, Vallillo tells Lincoln’s story -- from his birth 200 years ago on the Big South Fork of Nolan’s Creek in Kentucky through his death in 1865 at the hand of John Wilkes Booth. From an old jew’s-harp tune Lincoln used to play, to political songs like Lincoln and Liberty, Vallillo’s show uses the music to tell the tale in a way that words alone can’t match. Vallillo himself is a performer with an affinity for American roots music and a gift for translating historic topics into modern day understanding without losing the bedrock from which they surface. A former archaeologist turned folksinger/songwriter, he is a skilled six-string and bottleneck slide guitarist whose love of the past evolved into a love for old music.Vallillo has performed Abraham Lincoln in Song at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, The Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum, the Abraham Lincoln Home National Historic Site, President Lincolns Cottage in Washington DC and theaters, museums and historic sites around the country to celebrate the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth.

Shout! Beatles Tribute

Biography (from www.shouttribute.comOh yeah I'll tell you something I think you'll understand...In this era when Beatles tribute bands abound, one stands out above the rest - SHOUT! Since its inception in February of 1996, the band has made a quick and decisive rise to fame. While some personnel changes have been made, founder Rae Loeffler has made sure the group's subsequent line-up matches and exceeds its previous quality. Many attribute the band's popularity to its polished vocals, attention to detail in both performance and persona, and the evident chemistry between its members. Whatever the cause, SHOUT's celebrity shows no sign of slowing down. Instruments and a certain look, of course, add flavor to Shout's performance. Band members were careful to acquire the correct guitars, amps and drums, and use those acquisitions proudly. Each piece is dated as closely to the Beatles' own as possible. Gersabeck's on stage collection includes a Vox Royal Guardsman amp, a black Rickenbacker 325 guitar, and an Epiphone Casino. Manier uses a Hofner bass, a Rickenbacker 4001 and Vox Bassman amp. Wilcox plays a Rickenbacker 360-12, Gretsch Country Gentleman and Gretsch Tennessean guitars, an SG, and uses a Vox Buckingham amp. The kit of choice for drummer Kogut is a 1958 Ludwig Hollywood set.
And where would a Beatles band be without the right clothes? Shout strives for authenticity, from Cuban-heeled boots to mop-top hair, and even sports tailor-made suits like the Fab Four, including the famous Paris suits.
From head to toe, this fantastic tribute to the Fab Four is everything an audience might expect from a Beatles tribute band and more. Everybody's talking about Shout and the group continues to gain more and more acclaim with each performance. And you know that can't be bad....
